Say Hello to our 2022-23 Committee

The Club wishes to thank our previous Committee members stepping back from their roles. So a big thank you to Ciara Brennan, Glenn Osborne and Anna Sweeney for giving your time and efforts to the club, we wish you all the best.

Say hello to our new Committee:

Chairperson & Child Safety Officer - Laura Dunne

Laura started with the club Post-COVID in late 2021 in our Adult Learn To Skate sessions and since then has showed commitment and love for both skating and hockey. She is still in her first year of hockey and has already competed in both Inline and Ice Hockey at the SMASH Tournament this year, continuing to grow as a player she has competed in several senior games since. Laura is a common sight at practices alongside her daughter who she enjoys skating and spending time with. Laura's brilliant attitude and willingness to take on challenges and eagerness to complete tasks will serve her well as she takes up the role of Chairperson and guides the club in achieving it's goals ASAP!

PJ Ó Cuinneagáin - Treasurer, Child Safety Officer / DLP

PJ retains his role as club Treasurer and continues to be the club's Child Safety Officer and Designated Liaison Person. PJ has completed Level 3 Safeguard Training and is responsible for the club's current Safeguarding Documents and their publication via this website. PJ's other roles include Coaching at the club and looking after the social media account. PJ is a dedicated Coach and takes both roles very serious making sure the club keeps accurate financial records as well as ensure juniors and adults enjoy engaging and safe sessions.

Rachel Shawe - Secretary

Rachel began skating before COVID and rejoined shortly after by engaging in our Adult Learn To Skate sessions. From there she transitioned to hockey and has since competed in senior Ice and Inline competition, even travelling to France with our friends from Dublin the 'Celtic Clovers' to compete alongside her Husband and team mate Ellie on Ice. Rachel's passion, commitment and experience is already proving herself valuable in her new role as Club Secretary and has hit the ground running.

Diane Best - Equality and Welfare Officer

Diane came to us as part of the Adult Learn To Skate and has since simply fallen in love with the sport. She to has competed alongside Laura and other female members at the SMASH Ice and Inline Hockey Tournament and since taken every opportunity home and abroad to put the skates on whether its the wheels or the blades with her sights set on a Team Ireland spot. Diane is passionate about equality and inclusivity, with her experience and positive outlook, she will ensure every member of our club feels appreciated, welcome and be able to identify and understand the needs of others around them.

We look forward to a very productive year of skating and hockey under the guidance of our new Committee.
